– Nankai Electric Railway CO.,LTD. (9044.T) announced today that it has resolved to transition its CEO role during its upcoming annual general meeting scheduled for June 16.

The changes aim to enhance operational efficiency and strategic leadership within the group. The rationale behind this decision stems from the recent restructuring of the railway operations into a separate entity in April, which necessitates a more agile management approach. Additionally, the rapid pace of societal change requires quicker decision-making processes and the recruitment of external talent.

To address these needs, the company plans to appoint Okishima Nobuyuki as CEO, while Furutoku Mitsuhiko will take on the role of chairman. Under the new structure, Okishima Nobuyuki will assume the position of CEO from his previous role as COO, effective June 16, 2026. Meanwhile, Furutoku Mitsuhiko will relinquish his dual roles as CEO and chairman, focusing instead on fostering collaboration with local municipalities and other sectors to further elevate the company's enterprise value.

This shift marks a significant step towards establishing a robust governance framework aimed at driving the next phase of growth for Nankai Electric Railway Group.
