Morinaga Reports First Quarter Revenue Growth Amid Strong US Sales

– Morinaga & CO.,LTD. (2201.T) reported a revenue increase of 5.6% to ¥100.99 billion for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, compared to the same period last year.

Operating profit declined by 13.7%, reaching ¥9.6 billion due to higher logistics costs and amortization expenses related to acquisitions. Despite challenges, net income attributable to parent shareholders was ¥4.506 billion, down slightly from ¥5.078 billion in the previous year. In the United States, sales of key products such as "HI-CHEW" and "my mochi ice cream" saw strong performance, contributing significantly to overall growth.

MyMo Holdco, Inc., which became a subsidiary in the first quarter, bolstered sales through strategic partnerships and product diversification. Looking ahead, Morinaga expects continued growth, projecting revenues of ¥403 billion and operating profits of ¥34 billion for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027. The company plans to maintain focus on expanding its global footprint while managing operational costs effectively.
