Meiwa Completes Share Repurchase Program; Announces Share Cancellation
TOKYO, Aug 04 (Pulse News Wire) – Meiwa Corporation (8103.T) completed its share repurchase program, acquiring a total of 687,100 shares during the period from July 01, 2026 to July 31, 2026. As of July 31, 2026, the company had cumulatively purchased 2,916,100 shares with a total acquisition cost of ¥2.500 billion.
Additionally, the company disclosed that it will cancel 2,916,100 shares, representing 7.23% of the outstanding shares prior to cancellation. Following the cancellation, the total number of issued shares will be reduced to 37,416,300. The cancellation is scheduled to take place on November 30, 2026.
In a previous board meeting held on February 19, 2026, the company approved a share repurchase plan aimed at purchasing up to 3,400,000 shares, which represented 8.43% of the outstanding shares excluding treasury stock. The total value of the repurchased shares was capped at ¥2.500 billion. The repurchases were conducted through open-market purchases on the Tokyo Stock Exchange from March 10, 2026, until October 30, 2026.
Furthermore, the board also decided to cancel all the acquired treasury shares, with the cancellation set to occur on November 30, 2026.
