Matsuya MATSUMOTOYA Reports June Sales Increase Despite Typhoon Impact
TOKYO, Jul 01 (Pulse News Wire) – Matsuya CO.,LTD. (8237.T) reported a 1.4% increase in sales at its Ginza store for June compared to the previous year.
However, the Asakusa store saw a significant decline of 22.8%. The overall sales growth was driven by a surge in duty-free sales, particularly cosmetics which rose approximately 14.8%, and luxury items such as shoes and bags, up around 14.8%. This boost came amid increased purchases from overseas customers due to favorable exchange rates. Domestic customer sales excluding duty-free transactions dropped by roughly 10% due to the impact of typhoons and fewer Sundays in the month.
Looking ahead, Matsuya plans to continue focusing on strategies to attract a broader range of international visitors while also implementing measures to promote domestic customer visits and expand sales. The detailed sales report for June is scheduled for release on July 13 at 16:00. Seiji Sekine at the Corporate Communications Department of Matsuya CO.,LTD. via mobile number 070-4,547-7555.
