Maezawa Holdings Posts Expected Negative Goodwill Gain in Q1 FY2027

TOKYO, Jul 14 (Pulse News Wire) – Maezawa Holdings CO.,LTD. (575A.T) announced that it expects to record a special gain due to negative goodwill amounting to ¥14.50 billion in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027.

The company was established through a share exchange method, becoming the sole parent company of Maezawa Industry Co., Ltd. and Maezawa Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.

The reported figure is preliminary and subject to final determination after completing the settlement procedures. However, the company stated that this accounting treatment does not represent a sustainable cash flow generation and thus will not be included in future dividend calculations from a stable shareholder return perspective.
