Kyushu Railway Company Suspends Services Due to Earthquake Damage
TOKYO, Jul 31 (Pulse News Wire) – Kyushu Railway Company (9142.F) suspended operations on several rail lines due to damage caused by the July 28 Kumamoto earthquake. The affected sections include parts of the Kyushu Shinkansen between Kumamoto and Shin-minamata stations, and portions of the Kagoshima Main Line and Sanjō Line.
Full restoration timelines remain unclear, with resumption expected beyond August. Additionally, JR Kumamoto City facilities plan to gradually resume operations starting July 31.
