Kyorin Pharmaceutical Pharma signs sales pact for allergy eye cream

TOKYO, Jul 13 (Pulse News Wire) – Kyorin Pharmaceutical CO.,LTD. (4569.T) signed a joint promotion agreement with Santen Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.

For the sustained-release eye lid cream Alezion®. Alezion® is designed to reduce patient burden compared to traditional antihistamine eye drops, requiring application just once daily. Santen will continue manufacturing and promoting the product within ophthalmology while KYORIN plans to begin marketing outside of ophthalmology in August 2026. This collaboration leverages KYORIN's expertise in respiratory and ENT fields along with Santen’s specialization in ophthalmic treatments.

Both companies aim to deliver Alezion® to more patients suffering from allergic conjunctivitis, thereby enhancing their quality of life. Any impact on fiscal 2027 earnings forecasts will be disclosed promptly if necessary. Alezion® was developed by Santen to address the need for simpler treatment regimens, offering a world-first formulation for treating allergic conjunctivitis with a single daily application. Its active ingredient, epinasitin hydrochloride, provides histamine H1 receptor antagonism and mediator inhibition from mast cells, effectively managing symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.
