Kuradashi.Co. Acquires Mitowa Shares to Expand Gift Business
TOKYO, Aug 06 (Pulse News Wire) – Kuradashi.co.,ltd. (5884.T) announced that it acquired 140 shares of Mitowa Co., Ltd., making it a subsidiary.
The acquisition was approved during a board meeting held on August 06, 2026 and a share transfer agreement was signed on the same day. Mitowa, founded in 1977 and incorporated in 1983, specializes in planning, manufacturing, and wholesaling original gifts. With strong relationships with major wholesalers and robust product development capabilities, Mitowa has maintained stable operations for over 45 years. By acquiring Mitowa, Kuradashi aims to enhance its gift planning functions and expand its wholesale distribution channels. This move supports Kuradashi's mission to reduce food waste through sustainable gifting initiatives and aligns with its growth strategy focused on expanding its e-commerce business, supply chain functionality, and new ventures.
Mitowa’s capital is ¥10 million. It was established on August 22, 1983, and its main activities include developing local products and corporate promotional items. Key financial metrics show total assets of ¥393 million, sales revenue of ¥870 million, operating profit of ¥24 million, ordinary profit of ¥59 million, and net income of ¥42 million for the fiscal year ending December 2025. The acquisition cost remains undisclosed due to confidentiality agreements but is expected to exceed Kuradashi's net asset value. Funding for the transaction will come from internal resources.
Additional advisory fees amount to ¥35 million.
