Japan Hotel REIT Investment Corp Reports March Revenue Gains Amid Travel Curbs

– Japan Hotel REIT Investment Corporation (8985.T) reported a 1.8% increase in room revenue per available room (RevPAR) for March 2026 compared to the same month last year. Despite travel curbs from China impacting occupancy rates, which rose by 0.5 percentage points to 74.5%, the hotel operator saw its average daily rate (ADR) climb to ¥20,827 from ¥19,390.

Total sales for the 29 hotels implementing variable rent models increased by 595 million yen to 19.09 billion yen year-over-year. In the lodging sector, despite the impact of travel restrictions from China, RevPAR still showed growth.

However, the tightening situation in the Middle East had a minor effect so far, and the company expects continued robust growth in RevPAR going forward. Meanwhile, the food and beverage department maintained strong performance, with overall sales up 178 million yen to 2.033 billion yen year-over-year.
