Jalco Holdings Acquires High-Voltage Battery Storage Facility in Nagano

– JALCO Holdings Inc. (6625.T) announced today that it completed the acquisition of a high-voltage battery storage facility located in Upper Shinano, Nagano Prefecture.

The facility, which began trading in the supply adjustment market in May 2026, has an output capacity of 2 MW and a storage capacity of 8 MWh. This marks the first time JALCO Group has entered the supply adjustment market through the acquisition. The company expects the facility's revenue to contribute to its fiscal year 2027 earnings. Additionally, the direct management of operational data from the central region will enhance future investment decisions and strategic planning. The primary revenue sources include adjustment power provision fees, arbitrage profits from electricity price differences, and capacity market supply fees.

The acquisition was finalized during a board meeting held, with the contract signed and settled. Financial details of the transaction remain confidential due to non-disclosure agreements. However, the purchase amount is below the parent company’s net assets as of the end of the previous fiscal year. With this addition, JALCO now operates a total of 82 MWh across various battery storage facilities. The company plans to continue evaluating potential projects carefully to ensure sustainable growth in the system-level battery business.
