TOKYO, Jul 30 (Pulse News Wire) – J-Holdings Corp. (2721.T) announced that its subsidiary, Jay Crest Corporation, resolved to acquire a system battery storage facility at a board meeting held.
The acquisition, part of a capital business alliance with Taiwan's Recharge Power Co., Ltd., involves purchasing a battery storage facility from Recharge Power’s domestic subsidiary, Recharge Power General Partnership. The facility, named Shōgawa Battery Storage Station, is expected to be completed and handed over in November 2026, with operational commencement planned for December 2026. Located in Gifu, Takayama Shi, the Shōgawa Battery Storage Station has an estimated power capacity of approximately 2 MW and a storage capacity of around 8 MWh. The total acquisition cost is approximately ¥700 million.
Following the acquisition, Recharge Power’s subsidiary REENS Corporation will manage the operation and maintenance of the facility, while Recharge Power General Partnership will handle operations at Agurigeetaa Gyoumu. This transaction marks the first project under the capital business alliance aimed at expanding system battery storage operations. It is anticipated that the facility will contribute to stable revenue growth for J-Holdings beginning in the first half of the fiscal year 2027, as it plans to participate in the supply-demand adjustment market shortly after startup. In addition, the company stated that the impact on the consolidated performance for the fiscal year ending December 2026 will be minor, with no changes to previously disclosed earnings forecasts.
Any future significant developments will be promptly disclosed.
