J Frontier Enters Comprehensive Business Alliance With Rakuten Group
TOKYO, Aug 03 (Pulse News Wire) – J Frontier CO.,LTD. (2934.T) announced today that it has entered into a basic agreement with Rakuten Group Inc.
During a board meeting held on August 03, 2026, aimed at promoting online medical consultations and medication guidance services. The companies plan to collaborate on several initiatives, including integrating Rakuten ID logins and payment options within J Frontier's "SOKUYAKU" service, expanding same-day delivery networks, and launching joint marketing campaigns to enhance user acquisition and engagement. Under the alliance, J Frontier will leverage Rakuten’s extensive customer base and e-commerce infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of online healthcare solutions. Additionally, users of "SOKUYAKU" will gain access to a new "slow delivery" option, allowing them to choose their preferred method of receiving prescription medications based on convenience.
Rakuten Group Inc., headquartered in Minato Ward, Tokyo, operates various internet and fintech businesses. As of December 31, 2025, the company had a capital of ¥459.5 billion. Major shareholders include Nippon Post Holdings Trust Bank (Trust Account) with a holding ratio of 10.84%, Crimson Group LLC with 10.43%, and Fumio Mikitani with 8.14%. In recent fiscal years, Rakuten reported total assets of 22,625,576 as of December 31, 2023, increasing to 28,804,400 as of December 31, 2025.
Operating profit stood at 212,857 for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024, while lower net profit widened to 14,382 for the same period in 2025.
