Ishares MSCI Japan SRI ETF Set for Early Termination and Major Terms Changes

– iShares MSCI Japan SRI ETF (2851.T) plans to terminate early and implement significant changes to its terms through a scheduled special resolution vote. The voting process begins on September 14, 2026 with the final decision expected on October 20, 2026.

If approved, the fund will cease operations on November 25, 2026. The ETF's net asset value stood at ¥1.479 billion as of June 30, 2026, with outstanding units totaling 3,754,032. Due to low unit counts below the threshold set in the trust agreement, management decided to wind down the fund. Shareholders opposing the termination can request redemption of their units between October 21, 2026 and November 09, 2026.

Redemption payments will commence on December 30, 2026, contingent upon approval. Beneficiaries will receive payment based on the final valuation determined on November 25, 2026. Payment methods will follow previously designated dividend receipt preferences, either via direct deposit or physical delivery of certificates. Additionally, subscription requests and exchange applications will halt post-October 21, 2026 and November 21, 2026, respectively, should the resolution pass.
