Ishares MSCI Japan Climate Methodology Update Announced

TOKYO, May 29 (Pulse News Wire) – Ishares Msci Japan Climate Action ETF (2250.T). The updates aim to reduce tracking errors relative to the parent index and simplify the calculation process while continuing to capture investment opportunities in companies leading the transition to decarbonization.

Key modifications include altering the selection approach within GICS sectors to a tilt method, reassessing certain criteria during stock selection, updating climate-related metrics, reviewing exclusions based on Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) approval, reevaluating existing constituent exclusions, and revising nuclear weapons exclusion standards. The revised methodology will take effect on June 1, 2026, following the half-yearly review in May 2026.
