Inpex Announces Share Repurchase Plan
TOKYO, Aug 07 (Pulse News Wire) – INPEX Corporation (1605.T) decided on a share repurchase plan during its board meeting held on August 07, 2026. The move aims to enhance capital efficiency and strengthen shareholder returns.
Under the plan, INPEX intends to repurchase up to 50 million shares ordinary shares, representing 4.3% of the outstanding shares excluding treasury stock. The total amount for the repurchase is capped at ¥140.0 billion. The repurchase period runs from August 10, 2026, to December 31, 2026.
The company plans to execute the buyback through open-market purchases on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. As of June 30, 2026, the total number of outstanding ordinary shares, excluding treasury stock, stood at 1,163,189,327. Currently, the company holds 95,946,740 treasury shares, excluding those held by the Executive Compensation Trust (969,322).
