Hakudo Reports Strong First Quarter Revenue and Operating Profit Amid Global Semiconductor Demand Surge
TOKYO, Aug 07 (Pulse News Wire) – Hakudo CO.,LTD. (7637.T) reported robust results for the fiscal first quarter ending March 2027, achieving record-high revenue of ¥219.3 billion, up 22.9% year-over-year.
The growth was driven by increased demand for semiconductors, particularly in the manufacturing equipment sector, leading to higher sales volumes of standard inventory items and custom products. Additionally, aluminum and stainless steel thin plates saw stronger sales due to enhanced distribution networks and customer base expansion. Operating profit surged to ¥1.378 billion, marking a significant increase from the previous year's ¥385 million.
Despite rising transportation costs, the company managed to control selling and administrative expenses, resulting in a substantial rise in ordinary income to ¥1.476 billion, also a quarterly record. Looking ahead, Hakudo revised its full-year earnings forecast upward based on continued strong global semiconductor demand and favorable raw material prices. The company now expects annual revenue of ¥850 billion, up from the initial projection of ¥800 billion, with operating profit anticipated to reach ¥2.08 billion compared to the earlier estimate of ¥2 billion.
