Furukawa Electric Raises FY27 Mid-Year Forecast Amid Strong Demand

– Furukawa Electric CO.,LTD. (5801.T) revised its fiscal 2027 mid-year and full-year consolidated earnings forecasts upward due to increased demand in key markets.

For the six months ending September 30, 2026, the company now expects revenue of ¥720.0 billion, operating profit of ¥49.50 billion, ordinary profit of ¥60.50 billion, and net income attributable to parent shareholders of ¥42.50 billion per share. This represents increases of 2.9%, 41.4%, 63.5%, and 70.0% respectively compared to previous estimates. Looking ahead to the full fiscal year through March 31, 2027, Furukawa Electric projects revenue of ¥1.53 trillion, operating profit of ¥123.0 billion, ordinary profit of ¥143.0 billion, and net income attributable to parent shareholders of ¥105.0 billion per share.

These figures represent growth rates of 4.8%, 29.5%, 43.0%, and 28.0% respectively compared to earlier projections. The revisions reflect stronger-than-expected sales expansion in the optical solutions and information components segments driven by rising demand in Data Center Kanrenseihin. Additionally, higher investment gains recognized under the equity method contributed to improved profitability.

Furukawa Electric anticipates continued robust performance in the latter half of the fiscal year, bolstered by sustained sales growth in Data Center Kanrenseihin and further investment gains.
