CK San-Etsu Acquires Electronic Lead Wire Business from Toyama Sumitomo Electric

– CK San-etsu CO.,LTD. (5757.T) announced that its subsidiary, Sanetsu Metal Corporation, resolved to acquire the electronic lead wire business from Toyama Sumitomo Electric Co., Ltd..

The acquisition aims to enhance competitive strength within the high-value-added electronic lead wire sector, which faces increasing competition from overseas companies. By integrating manufacturing and quality management expertise, Sanetsu Metal seeks to expand its operations and improve competitiveness across various aspects such as quality, cost, and delivery times. The capital investment for this transaction remains undisclosed due to agreements with the seller. Toyama Sumitomo Electric, established on October 1, 1986, operates aluminum wire rod and alloy products, electronic lead wire production, and cellmet® manufacturing.

Its major shareholder, Sumitomo Electric Industries, holds 49.9%. Sanetsu Metal, headquartered in Toyama, Tonami Shi Oota1,892-banchi, specializes in brass rods, wires, plated wires, and precision parts. Founded on October 3, 2011, the company's primary shareholder, CK San-etsu CO.,LTD., owns 100% of the shares. The acquisition is scheduled to take effect on November 1, 2027, pending regulatory approvals.

CK SAN-ETSU expects no impact on its consolidated performance for the fiscal year ending March 2027 but anticipates long-term benefits through enhanced operational efficiency and improved profitability.
