Achilles Reports Strong First Quarter Results Amid Uncertainties
TOKYO, Aug 07 (Pulse News Wire) – Achilles Corporation (5142.T) reported strong first quarter results for the fiscal year ending March 2027, driven by robust sales in electronics and medical segments. Revenue reached ¥18.38 billion, up from ¥21.36 billion last year, reflecting increased demand for films and semiconductor materials.
Operating profit surged to ¥445 million, up from ¥1.175 billion, due to higher gross margins and cost reduction efforts. Despite challenges in the footwear division, which saw reduced sales volumes post-price adjustments, overall revenue growth was significant. The company also benefited from foreign exchange gains and dividend income, contributing to a substantial increase in ordinary profit to ¥376 million. Net profit attributable to shareholders rose to ¥246 million, marking a significant improvement compared to the previous year's ¥1.022 billion.
In the balance sheet, total assets grew to ¥86.569 billion, while liabilities stood at ¥42.127 billion. Equity increased to 16.9% million, boosting the equity ratio to 51.3%. The company maintained a solid capital structure with a share price of ¥3167.21 per share. Looking ahead, despite ongoing uncertainties related to Middle East supply chain disruptions, Achilles expects stable performance.
The company revised its forecast for dividends upward to ¥50 per share, reflecting positive earnings expectations and adherence to its mid-term dividend policy.
